Shahrukh Khan is an Indian film actor, producer, TV host, mentor and philanthropists. He was awarded with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2005, and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Government of France in 2007 for his contribution to films. Shahrukh has received honorary doctorate at the sixth convocation of Maulana Azad National Urdu University.

Shahrukh Khan Biography
SRK was born on 2 November 1965 in New Delhi, India into a Muslim family. His father, Taj Mohammed Khan was an ethnic Pathan and an Indian independence activist from Peshawar, British India and mother Lateef Fatima was the daughter of a senior government engineer. He was brought up in Mangalore for the first five years of his life. His father died of cancer when Shahrukh was 15 years old and his mother died in 1990 after prolonged illness. He has an elder sister named Shehnaz.

Shahrukh Khan Career
Shahrukh has studied acting under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John at Delhi’s “Theatre Action Group”. He played the leading role of Commando Abhimanyu Rai in the critically acclaimed show Fauji, which earned him mass recognition. In 1991, he shifted base to Mumbai and received his first film offer with Hema Malini’s directorial debut Dil Aashna Hai.

However, due to production delays, his second film, Deewana (1992), alongside Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti released first. The film became a box office hit and launched his career in Bollywood and he won a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award, the following year.
In 1995, Khan starred in Aditya Chopra’s directorial debut Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The film was declared an “all time blockbuster” and it remains the longest-running film in the history of Indian cinema. The actor has been part of many blockbuster hits and is one of the finest actor of bollywood.

Shahrukh Khan Marriage/Wife/Children
Shahrukh got married to Gauri Chibber in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991. They have a son Aryan (born 1997) and a daughter Suhana (born 2000). In 2013 they became parents of a third child named AbRam via surrogacy.
